96 Accord Transmission Fluid Hose Burst
So I was driving and my car started blowing smoke from the hood and I pulled over on a side street luckily close to my house only to see transmission fluid all over the place and a burst hose. I guess it got damaged when I replaced the radiator yesterday. Anyway I will need to buy a new one tomorrow, is it a generic? Do I ask for a transmission fluid hose?
Go to your Honda parts department and have the parts guy look up "Radiator Hose" on his computer and it will give a diagram and list of parts. Determine which hose you need.
25213-PT0-603 016 001 HOSE (140MM) (BS) List 14.58
25214-P0A-003 017 001 HOSE (290MM) (ATF) List 23.60
25215-P0A-003 018 001 HOSE (290MM) (ATF) List 26.23
I would not chance a parts store hose on this critical item. One if it fails it will leave you stranded, and two hot ATF can flash ignite if exposed to a high heat source such as a hot exhaust pipe.
Gates and many other companys make/produce tran cooler hose....like you were going to install an aftermarket trans cooler. Last time I repaced the rad in the 95 I got a few feet (store sold it by the foot) of trans cooler hose....27058 or 27059 I think was the part number by Gates.
