Default H3 bulb into an H4 harness?

I've got a 93 eg hatch. I did a quick search and found links of putting a h4 bulb into a h3 housing (won't fit) but that's not my problem.

My problem is that I have H3 projector lights (yes I know the H3 stock bulbs in projectors are horrible and agree) and wanted to pick up a DDM H3 raptor kit. My eg has a H4 harness (the original lights were H4 stock). When I talked to the tech he said that the H3 HID kit has two wires on the lights (blade type), one red, one black. He said that it is possible to just plug those wires into the stock H4 harness (has three slots of course, but one is for the ground, one red, one black) and run the ballast like normal.

Is this true? I don't want to cut and splice wires because if it doesn't work then I'm s.o.l on returning it.
