Default Coilovers

After hours of reading here is what i see constantly

1. GC/koni over all
2. that's just Taiwanese garbage

Was looking at AMR's but shady owner led me elsewhere PICS are based off the same Taiwanese coil overs everyone calls crap (although they do look better)

IS there anything american made?
Was looking at stance coils they are made in Japan.

Budget is 2k Car is a 95 EG hatch once the motor is returned will be about 450 at the wheels. Its a street car that will see the track once in awhile.

Side note what the hell is this JDM anto JDM crap. Do we not all just share a interest in building a awesome machine within are budgets?

Can't go wrong with koni or AMR.

AMR is definitely made in the United States.

AMR is assembled in the usa, not to mention hes shady. Getting banned on a forum then re registering as another user and acting like hes a consumer. I have no will to business with a man like that.

Your grammar is awesome. Just wanted to get that out of the way.

A good product is a good product, I've heard nothing but good things about AMR and their customer service. Judging by your attitude via reading this thread maybe you forgot to put on your nice face prior to asking questions???...

If Koni/GC or AMR not good enough for you then blow your 2k wad on KW variant 3's and call it a day boss!

Bashing a product is better then bashing a name man. This is a public forum bud. I understand you have the right to rant, and I respect that...but sometimes its just better to be the bigger person and ask for other opinions, if you don't want to go a certain direction its totally understood.

PS- I wasn't kidding about the KW Variant 3's...if I had the dough thats exactly where I'd head. Even though its a bit overkill, but so is a 400+hp eg right!?

http://www.kw-suspension.com/us/kw_variant_3.php

They can be found for your ride for about $1800. If you want to be different and are dead serious about your ride this is a good choice, mind you they may not be the best situation for a DD, may be to firm for some. (Depending on tolerance)

For a DD you'll want to choose your own custom spring rates in my opinion, this is why the Koni/GC setup would be good...but the softer you go the harder time you'll have trying to harness all that HP. Spend your time looking for a happy medium if possible.

Maybe I missed something, but what is wrong with AMR? How is the owner shady?

I am not looking to thread or anything, but care to support what your saying?
The only one negative thng I have heard of AMR is some times it may take a while for someone to get a responce, or get the product.
I have personaly spoken with Andy several times, and he almost always is busy.

As far as PIC being made in tiwain, that is true. However this doesn't make it a bad choice. PIC coilovers a great choice. The company is very open about the fact it is made in Tiwian where as many other companys will not openily admit that.

If a company is making a quaility product with good R&D, what the heck does it matter where it was made? Basicly what I am saying is, not all thing quality come from the US, hell I bet half the crap in my house as well as your house was made in Tiwan/China. A qualitly product is a qualitly product.

I am not looking to bash you or anything, just looking for a little more information.

But to help you out, is the 2k just for the coilovers or are you looking to do more things to the suspension as well?

Drag racing I supose?

I personally went with AMR because of custom valving to my choice, quality of materials plus the warranty. I have never heard that Andy was shady he told me that my coilover build time would be 4 weeks but they were shipped to me in 3 weeks, so maybe you're right he did screw me on his build time estimate. He even sent me pics through text of the suspension in different stages of the build. I have run Ohlins in the past and they are an awesome product, I sold them because somebody offered me more than I paid for them but in the long run it helped because after 3yrs if they blew I could have been out of 2g's I spent on them. With the AMR's I get lifetime as long as Andy's company is a float and if AMR does go under I can take them to any reputable shock re-builder and they can re-build it and cost me a whole lot less than Ohlins/KW/Moton for the price I paid. Also even though PIC is made in Taiwan they seem to be a quality product.

Hmm, Yea that doesn't look great on his part. But also, I am sure there is more then just what Andy did. He was banned becuase the owner didn't like him? That makes him look like a child.

So I searched, and all I am able to find is good reveiws. Every one is entitled to their own opinon. I will maintain thinking the same thing. AMR coilovers are a fantastic choice if you can afford them.
