1996 Accord Hood latch not working
I've been messing with it ... put PB blaster then WD40 but its still temperamental is it a simple fix before I go replace it
Basically the first latch catches and not the one for the pull inside the car most of the time

i have that issue with my 95 and make sure that the cable is pulled tight that goes to the lever in the car all the way to the latch...havent found i fix for mine, but i need myself to pull it tight and another to pull the lever when i open my hood and and viceversa for closing it
Those things are hit or miss, I remember buying a new unit and the same failure resulted.
My trick was to push down on the piece with the spring and the hood would usually close.
Post a pic I'll show you what I am referring to.

The latch inside the car is pushed all the way forward I actually had my friend who owns a towing company mess with it also he got it to close finally just tinkering with the outside latch with a screwdriver
