Default D16y8 valve adjustment gap?

Okay so my Civic has 157k on it, and I can almost guarantee it's not been done on this car. Any one have the gap spec? I've heard some one say 8 intake 10 exhaust, and some one else say 7 intake 9 exhaust. I don't own a manual yet, and this is something I should get done this week. Mind giving the correct gap?

.007-.009 intake
.009-.011 exhaust

this is directly from the factory service manual

Thank you kindly.

Did it earlier today, and it really smoothed out the idle and the "Honda tap". The previous people who did it had them way to tight, and I really hope that wasn't any more then 10k miles ago... I really don't feel like dealing with a burnt valve just yet. Got other things to worry about first! Haha.

Way to bump a 3 year old thread...you really think that guy is coming back?

You do know that this information is on the inside of the hood of the car, right?

It's this thing called a service range. It's expected to be between .007 and .009 for intake, and .009 and .011 for exhaust. Any value between those numbers is acceptable.

either or, .008 obviously would be okay too.. As long as it is within these specifications, its good. Idk I would go 7 or 8 I think they're better off a little loose than a little tight. Too tight leads to valve heads cracking, and too lose leads to a chattering sound. Make up your own mind lol
