...mmmMMMMm BaaaaaHHHHH...-=VTEC=-
This post is referring to the oh so nice VTEC sound once engaged. I just removed my AEM CAI and installed the stock airbox and did that DIY icebox conversion with the K&N dropin. The sweet "mmm-Bah" sound when vtec kicks in isnt so loud anymore. Does that mean my car isnt as strong as it was with the CAI? or is the sound just resonated because its inside the airbox? Without the sound, the car feels a bit sluggish, but is it all in my head? Any other DIY icebox peeps have the same problem? PLEASE HELP!
send me the head...get a new one from HONDA.....type rs are over rated!! no hps....just look for your car to get stolen soon and showing up in a hatch near you.....hatchcraps are rockets just waiting for a STOLEN R motor!!!!!!!

Yeah noise sells... you know the ricers with fart cans sound like they're going sooo fast when they're cruising at 15
I just shook my head and laughed.
leave the DIY icebox and either remove your entire exhaust or punch a hole in the rear of it, then you'll have your noise back again
I guess you guys misunderstood me. My car works perfectly, but i dont have the loud VTEC sound anymore. I still feel vtec engage hard but without the noise that im accustomed to from the CAI, it seems like im slower. All you ITR's out there love the icebox so much and theres dyno charts all over HT proving that the icebox or even the DIY icebox perform almost just as well. According to these charts, the CAI gives the integras a 15HP spike from 4500-5000 rpms, which is useless since we only see those rpm's in first gear. Was switching to the DIY icebox a mistake?

why not just take it to a dyno or 1/4 track? i always try to test my car at 1/4 mile in between mods or dyno it every now and then.. to keep track and not guess by the way it sounds/feels
the reason it doesn't sound that loud is due to filter in enclosure.. where aem is open..
