Replacing broken studs, need help.
I drive a '94 Honda Accord Ex. I wont go into detail of what happened, but apparently I ran into a curb and I broke a stud. I broke another trying to loosen a bolt to get to the stud. There's this plate or something in front of the studs, I don't know what its called. I tried to remove it and loosened 3 out of the 4 bolts, but the last bolt is too rounded to get out. What can I do?
Bolts>Tire>Plate>Studs
Bolts>Tire>Plate>Studs
you can get a bolt extractor. they're pretty cheap. Idk where you live but Harbor freight has a set for like 10 bucks. they work wonders.
I wouldn't call them bolts, they're lug nuts.
The lug nuts hold the wheel to the hub which is the circle thing you're seeing, the hub is over top of the brake rotor.
You need to remove the caliper, then you can see a small gap where if you spin the hub/wheels studs around you can hammer them through. To replace, insert the replacement stud through that same gap, then use a lug nut to tight it down and bring it flush with the others. If you do a search on this section there are several threads regarding the procedure.
