Default Recent Brake Work Done-Have Questions

I let my girlfriends brother borrow my 96 Accord LX and somehow the brakes decided not to work. He managed to get it to stop and pushed it to a Napa (mechanic next door). They lifted the car and inspected it for me. I went later in the day and the mechanic told me that a couple of the brake lines were broken. He said he had to make a brake lines (since they don't make them for the car) and install it with new "unions" (don't remember the actual name but that could be it). He also said he bled the brakes. I drove the car today and I have to press my brake all the way down for it to stop.

I'm really not confident driving the car and the brakes weren't that bad before this incident. That is my daily driver but I have another car so it isn't bad if it's going to be out of commission for a while. What do you guys recommend me do? I was under the impression that if you bleed the brakes that they would be stiff. I will go home today and inspect the brake pads to make sure they aren't worn.

Is there anything else I should visually inspect?

Try bleeding them again, RR-LF-LR-RF. All the while inspecting for additional leaks.

Does it have ABS? If so might want to check the ABS res and bleed if needed.

If that doest help you might need a new/rebuilt mast cyl. Pushing the pedal all the way down like that might have damaged the seals.....Holding steady pressure on the brake pedal, does it sink....

I had a failed master cyclinder and the brake pedal went to the floor.

As suggested, bleed the system again, properly.
