What vehicle? What's the fuel level? What exactly did you install?
Was it just the pump? Or did you install other things like the gauge and fpr?

the car is a 91 civic si, fuel level is a bit less that half tank, i installed the the walbro 255lph kit including the sock. installed a fuel pressure gauge before the walbro pump and the stock pupm would read 44 psi. i dont have a fuel presure regulator.

you dont need a regulator, drop the tank again sounds like u did not do the install correctly or the pump is bad. the other choice is top the tank off and see if the psi goes up. if it does the install was wrong. bad part is the tank is now full.

we have seen car where the pump was not on correctly or the tube was bent/broken and at the half tank it would shut off

^x2. There is no reason you should need an adjustable fuel regulator for that pump. Is this a new or used pump? Did you replace the hoses or reuse the old ones? If you reused the old hoses, are there any cracks in them? Of course, it could just be a bad pump.
