How to get Recaro seats in EM1 ?
Hey guys,
I purchased a set of Recaro speeds locally and I have just the seats. I do not have enough money to buy the Recaro brackets and rails online so I was wondering what people do to get them in.
Thank you for your replies.

Not to be an *** but, how are you gonna buy some Recaros and not afford to buy rails and bracket?? Just save and do it right. That's like buying a bentley and living in apartments......
Put your seats inside the house and save up for those brackets.
How dumb would it be to be seriously hurt or die in an accident because you cheaped out on seat brackets, but put the seats in anyway because they look cool, you like the way they feel, etc.?

your cheapest way to put those on your em1 is to look around for the oem jdm seat rails for either ctr or itr rails. the itr rails will fit 3/4 bolts but its solid. save up and do it right.
what you do is get the money for recaro rails. then buy recaro rails. then install them.
how would you like 3/4 of a circumcision because it was cheaper for your doctor?

OP: Be ready to spend $400 on aftermarket rails or have good luck in finding CTR EK9 rails for less than $150. If you have a Rinkya or FJ account, you can look on YJA for rails. I found OE Recaro rails for a 6th gen Civic for $300 shipped to my door. Not only are they OE Recaro, but they sat lower than OEM Honda.
This statement to me is an oxymoron.

haha well its better than fabbing up some sketchy seat rails from zip ties and pieces of metal. i bought bride rails for my srds and their great!
im pretty sure what ever you've done to your car is 100% correct, so you can sleep well at night

and when i said save up and do the right thing, i meant save up and do the right thing! save up and buy rails for your car...haha you guys are too funny!!
Well genius I know that the bracket and rail is the "right" way to go but i was wondering if anyone had an alternative. As for the analogy, let me start off by saying are you guys ****ing retarded minus the wheels and tires- I found that fairly sensible. Let me start by saying it's a civic, chill brah. I don't want to invest in **** if there is a fairly decent way to semi-manufacture in a garage. To justify myself in which I honestly can give a **** less I got the seats cheap. So before commenting maybe you douches should stop echoing the douche on top of you. He beat you to the punch line.
AND after reading all the innovative way of getting in seats without the manufacture now I will buy the rail and bracket

1) Buy brackets
2) Make brackets
Cut and paste!. What i did to fit some 06 acura RSX seats into my del sol, cut off the brackets (not the rails) off my original del sol seats and then welded them onto my new seats and the end results.....

as long as you have the right tools anything is possible, I started this project a month an a half ago with the whole interior and im almost done.

This isn't a too each his own argument...or a we think it's rice argument...it's a HE'S GOING TO ****ING DIE IF HE DOES IT WRONG argument.
We would use the same statements if someone was discussing putting teg seats in a 6th gen without swapping the inner rail...ok cool 3 bolts line up...NOT SAFE.
You already spent 500-2000 dollars on seats...why cheap out on the part that's going to keep you alive. That's like people that buy the ebay recaro knocks...they're unsafe...plain and simple. They snap back in accidents, break, whip forward, horrible idea all around.
Cheap out on a shift ****, cheap out on speakers, cheap out on your exhaust, DON'T CHEAP OUT ON A VERY IMPORTANT PIECE OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
19crx93...don't encourage people to do unsafe things to their car if you're ignorant to the dangers when others are obviously knowledgeable and trying to help. NOFX gave an extremely reasonable answer.
uhh how is welding bracktes to seats unsafe?? welds are stronger then the metal. nothing unsafe there. your not missing bolts, using zip ties, or jimmy rigging anything. im sure he dosent have a welder so he will be taking them to a shop i assume where a certified welder will attach the brackets. think before you put people down. or should i get the tp out so you can wipe the s*** coming from the whole in your face when you read this.
To some degree two face does have a point, if you dont do it right you could be in deep **** if something bad were to happend. I know how to weld but I did not weld my brackets onto the new seats because im not certified, I had someone with 20+ years of experience to weld my brackets onto my seats. Now i trust my seats enough to have my son ride shotgun, it takes carefull planning and the right tools to accomplish this type of job.

He will need rails (pictured below) that can mount to the 6-mounting holes under the seat. From there, he could get a welder to fabricate brackets to mount the rails to.
