Default Finally made it to the dyno

Went to Do It Dyno last Thursday and finally got it tuned after about a year of putting it off. Car drives awesome and I'm totally happy with it.

Setup is:

Head-
p72 head
CTR cams and Valvetrain
PerformerX IM
PE 68mm TB
3in SRI with Blox stack and filter
RS Machine header
2.5 Exhaust no cat
AEM FPR
255 Fuel pump

Block-
Stock B20z

I thought it was a decent street tire time.

Went to the dyno and track, so I think I backed up the dyno numbers.

Thumbs up to Do it Dyno!

Went back to the track again 08-13-2011

This time I put on 22in slicks, put the intake out of the headlight, and took out the seats. I also upgraded to a B16 trans with a Quaife diff. This was my first time on slicks, but everytime I went down the track I improved my time.

13.5@102 2.1 60ft haha
13.3@103 2.0
13.2@104 1.9

I was still at 13psi in the slicks when the told me I couldn't run anymore cause I didn't have a helmet. I know my I could bust out a 13.0 with more seat time.

I took it to Do It Dyno in Signal Hill.

The IM works just fine, car has a pretty decent power curve.1

I bet you wish you got it tuned sooner huh?
I hope people see your thread and get tuned sooner than later so people realize how important it really is to get your CUSTOM engine setup with a CUSTOM tune!
Congrats man, nice improvements!
Isnt it amazing what ~ 17 whp/wtq feels like?

What is the reason for the dip before Vtec engagement?

I have the same torque dip from 5-5500rpm with my Px manifold in my 1.8ltr.
After seeing your graph I honestly thought I might be down on power with my set-up, I also have CTR cams in a very similar build. Then I went back and read you build list, 2.0ltr very nice missed that the first time. Wish I could get that kind of torque.

My buddy with a B18cR has the same dip on his.
BC spec 3 cams, ITR header, 255 Walbaro bump and AFPR, 63mm exhaust, are his mods.

The car is tuned with a piggy back. With stock ITR cams, the dip was not there...

I would be keen to know the reason for this dip.

Its on stock rod bolts and also daily driven. I rev to about 8k or just whenever I can feel the power fall off. I don't know what caused the dip, but the car runs awesome and you can't feel it.

I would cringe every time you took that thing passed 7k. Stock rod bolts? Geez man.

Because they weren't designed for more than 7k. Did you know they are the same rod bolts honda uses in Dseries? But hey....rev away!

I don't pass 8, and isn't the redline past 7k on a LS/B20?

When I had my GSR manifold on the car no Dip, perfectly smooth.

No. Factory redline is 6800. Just verified on a 99 integra LS at the shop here. Tachometer turns red at 6800. Those rod bolts are so weak and small, im surprised they have held up this long.

Just trying to help you out. At the end of the day its your motor, your decision. But I would not trust a tuner that says ls rod bolts are SAFE to 8k.
I suggest you do some more research on here. You'll find quickly that they are the weakest link in your entire setup. Again, I would not be telling you this to hurt you, only to help you. Btw, a tuner is a tuner. Id trust a seasoned engine builder when it comes to engine building. You'll find that any reputable builders on here would tell you your tuner is a moron for that statement.
