Trying to change out my PCV valve after 217,000 miles (bad idea) and the ****er snapped in half. The black half is stuck in the engine. There's a little bit sticking out, enough to grab it but there's no ****ing room under the car to be able to get a decent grip or get something to actually grip it from the side (not underneath) to pull it out.

Anyone got any tips? I've been at this for 2 hours.... I can't get the ****er out. I think because it's so old, the ****er won't budge. I had to take a hammer to the blue half in the hose because it just kept breaking when I tried pulling on it. Finally I said **** it and shattered it and it all fell out easily.

I was considering saying **** it and taking a screwdriver and poking through it to see if I could pull it out that way... But I don't want pieces falling back into that black box (whatever it is).

 

are u talking about the on thats in the black boc on the back of the motor?

 

Yes, underneath the intake manifold and above the oil filter. I went to change my oil today and thought it'd be a good idea to change the PCV valve while I had the oil filter off. Bad ****ing idea.... I need this car to drive to work every day... There can't be down time.

 

Nevermind it just completely broke. There's nothing to grab now. Guess I'll have to pull the intake manifold off now... /sigh. I won't be driving my car for a couple of days....

 

thats not the PVC valve.. but i know what your talking about.. you dont have to pull the motor, the box unbolts from the back of the motor.. just take it off and fix it

 

Yes it is the PCV valve. I would print screen majestichonda for you but I'm too tired.

Does anyone a picture of the black box the PCV valve connects to? The side that faces the engine block. I need to see how it looks.
