Default low compression on cyl 2

I just did a compression test and found low compression on cylinder 2 (around 100PSI). All others resulted in nominal pressure, around 185PSI. Just did a valve clearance adjustment too. The chilton suggested added a little oil and repeating the compression test, and after doing that, got about 125PSI in cylinder 2. Does this sound like a valve issue or worn piston ring? Any further tests I can do to help pinpoint the root cause? It's a 91 CRX SI, and has the burning oil smell in the exhaust...

Thanks!

I wish I could remember right off the top of my head but either way that head will have to be removed to fix the problem whether it's the valves or the rings. I think a leakdown test would be your next best bet at determining where the leak actual is.
