b16's are better on the boost. boost pressure is relative to the turbo size, saying you can run 10psi means nothing without also stating what turbo will be pushing it.

On a lot of engines 5-10 is about good on a stock engine with good looking internals. I had a friend who did 15 for a whole summer untuned, and through a rod clear through the block in the fall.

and im betting that if he had gotten it tuned, it probably wouldnt have through the rod.... If you put a turbo on an engine, you NEED to have it tuned. or you end up with a "block of swiss cheese"

yeah I think so too, the tuner would determine if 15psi is more than the motor can handle and make sure everything was running perfect.

right, because its not the PSI that blows motors, its running too much HP over when the parts can handle (assuming its a good tune)

Before ANYTHING gets turboed or tuned you should FIRST get a compression test to make sure the engine is healthy and maybe even go so far as to install ARP headstuds to prevent headlift. B-series are good for 300+ horsepower on stock internals.

GSR on 10psi t3/t4 57 trim gets my vote. Im curious why "b16's are better on boost". The added displacement makes more tq, which means more power and it spools the turbo quicker.

my bad, I didnt mean to say b16.. im on my phone. ideally you would want b16 head and b18 block, the b16 block is much weaker with no torque, but high revving head.

Seriously. If you have to ask then you are no where near ready.

Yeah. What do I know?

You have to research for quite sometime before you undertake a turbo install. Weeks or better yet months. Simply coming in here asking generic questions tells me all I need to know. You are not ready to go turbo.

^^^agree'd

to turbo a car, you really need to know what you're getting into. The simple questions you're asking tells us that you're really not ready for such a big step. You need to do a little more reading and ALOT more understanding.

about hondas nothing but idc i asked a quesiton i no the b16 has less compression ratio but obviously the b18 has a bigger displacement and i wanna do the lsv but since im not doing that right away i wanted to know a good base engine. theres nothing to be "ready" for i have a 1000 hp drag stang this is a cheap pos to mess around with so if you dont have anything good to say then dont

I don't really care about your drag car.
What engine is best to turbo? Best for what? You can turbo a lawnmower engine if you want to. You have no goals. You don't know what horsepower you can run. You don't even know what's safe to run on stock internals for any given engine. You don't know anything about Honda engine whatsoever yet you come in dropping terms like LS-VTEC like that's supposed to tell us you've done your homework. "The B16 has less compression ratio"? WTF are you talking about? Less than what? Hell you can swap in and turbo an F/H-series, a K-series and a J-series if you want to.

And as far as I recall this is a public forum you posted to so I can pretty much post where I please. I see guys like you with your pipe dreams come in here all the time asking these exact same questions with no plan expecting everyone to spoon feed you every little detail and not do ANY research on your own. Guess what? They never follow through with anything.

You already admitted you don't know squat so why not be quiet and listen to what people are trying to tell you? Whether you like it or not.

ht can be dicks sometimes lol, but what they're trying to say is if you wanna run ls-vtec turbo..and no idea on the output don't do it as your first and waste money, but if you are interested here's the link..
https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/how-build-reliable-ls-vtec-turbo-250-350whp-2757533/

i say just stick with b18block b16 head, but if its your first time with hondas, why not get an LS motor(b18, much cheaper) and you can make good power with it going turbo..

yea there are alot of people on here that are dicks.. they'll be quick to say search n00b! instead of using this information forum for what is meant for, to HELP people.. not everyone knows how to search properly or are experienced in using forums.. it would be nice if people could just give an answer to people questions and actually try and help them
