I picked this bike up yesterday, it's a 1982 Honda XL250R with 12K. This thing is fun to ride! It's very refreshing. With all this open public land to explore here, I've always wanted some kind of enduro.





It photographs much better than it looks in real life, but it is in decent shape.



A previous owner did this little airbrush painting on it. Kind of cool. I am considering replacing the tank though with a plastic one that holds 3.8 gallons.



Rear fender is a little tweaked, lol. My only gripe is it's a little loud. The exhaust is kind of rusted out.

Ya know, I didn't really understand supermoto bikes, but now I am starting to!

 

I love enduros, fun fun fun. I always wanted one, but always ended up getting sport bikes.

 

i want one of those soooo bad.

 

They're out there! I also had my eye on a '78 XL250S (turned out to be in not so good shape) and a '76 XL250. I had to pay more but got this one in the end.

 

I still think a there will be a dual-sport in my future, but probably not till after the wedding.

 

Set that thing up with hard cases and you're good to roll in the woods (for days).

 

I'd like to get one of those plastic tanks that bump up the fuel capacity. It would give it a 200 mile range before reserve!

 

That's definitely a must. Top rack for a gas can, too. Go all day. Haha

 

Only thing I would be worried about is getting a flat in the boonies somewhere. gotta figure out how to do flat repair.

 

I just ride it out of the woods.

 

I wonder if off roaders use CO2 cartridges like cyclists...probably have to carry an asstone of those though.
