if i understand what you have, you are going to weld in these EF8 brackets. i believe DA mounts will work best, but EF8 mounts would be the perfect match.
DA integra power steering will bolt up, this might work with civic power steering rack. get the DA rack if you can. I would also use a B-series A/C compressor and bracket, have the hoses modified to fit your EF. Or if you already have the D-series a/c, you can get the hasport/innovative bracket for it to work.
I would run the EF alternator or 90-91 integra, on my b16a1 they are the same. post pics and good luck!

You can't use EF8 mounts in any north american civic, they are in different mount positions

As far as install, it's the same as any other B series, and only a couple factors depending on what tranny you use will change

i had to get us ef b-series mounts to get my motor to bolt in the mounts from a da will not fit

just to keep it simple use all parts for the same setup b-series

the frame needs to be cut out or as i did get my friends and beat at the frame to get clearance for the alternator and depending any b-series alternator would fit

Thanks guys for the help!

Yes, I understand the mount locations are different on an EF8 due to RHD, etc.
All modifications will be done to make this a reality, this includes the shaving necessary, welding, etc ...

So this is what I have so far:

- DA mounts will fit but not fit
- Hasport has a B-Series to D-Series EF A/C compressor bracket (200.00!)
- EF8 mounts will work, but EF8 will not work. haha
- US EF B-Series mounts will work .. from what vehicle? B-Series is not offered here.
- Use all original parts ... I was thinking about using the original alternator.

I also forgot to mention that the transmission I will be using will be a downgraded CT-R transmission. It will consist of a YS1 outer casing with "R" internals porting to a cable setup. I just don't want to bother with the hydraulic modifications required.

For the most part, the YS1 (vtec version) is a type r tranny, they share the same internals and gearing. Some of the jdm versions even have the oem LSD option, making it exactly the same as the CTR transmission, except in a cable operated design...i know, because i have one

That's really good to know, but not all YS1's came off of vtec vehicles, correct? I have yet to open up the transmission so I don't know if it is a vtec version and I don't think it has an LSD from what I can remember. But it is rocking the "YS1" label in tact.

So, can anyone point me to a write up on the B16B swap to clarify this? It's driving me nuts and I need all this hardware before next week!

I guess I can start off easy and obvious ... what alternator to use and bracket? I should be able to settle for a type-r (B16B) alternator, correct?

My ultimate goal is to stay as USDM OEM on this hardware as possible for ease of attaining replacement parts. I'm sure I can use EF8/9 a/c compressors, but don't want to be fawked if they ever mess up.

you said your project was 'going in a different direction,' but you want to stay as usdm as possible? if that's the case just get hasport or whoever mounts, can't get any more usdm than that.

Thanks for the clarification ... EF8 mounts are out of the question now.

So am I looking at getting OEM DA/DC rubber mounts? I don't know how diff. the B16B is over any other B family of engines ... I've heard the rear DA rubber mount should work, can someone confirm this?

I want the OEM look and ease of replacement parts, so I want OEM over hasport. I do not want polyurethane as it is too darn stiff.

It can never be stiff enough . And Ef8 mounts should of been an obvious no brainer as to not being able to use them. No offense.

EF8/EF9/DA mounts will not work. Has nothing to do with RHD, the frame mounts are completely different. Same difference between an EF8 and an EF7. Even though both are RHD they are completely different under the hood.

You cannot use any stock integra or civic mounts, get aftermarket and be done. This is not conflicting info it is fact.

just buy the right swap mounts and be done. seems your doing more work that needed just to be different. when you open your hood nobodys gonna go oh hey i like the way you cut up your engine bay to make these work instead of just buying the proper mounts...
