Default Does an ACT clutch need an ACT pressure plate?

Recently my car stopped going into gear. i replaced the clutch master cylander and slave cylander and no luck, jus did the thro out bearing a few weeks back and that is all good. I bought a new ACT 4 puck clutch for it and then it turned out i had a brokin tooth on my pressure plate. I have another b series pressure plate but my friend is saying ACT clutches are Special clutches that require special pressure plates. Anyone know if this is a true fact? or will the clutch work with a stock b16 pressure plate?

Pressure Plates have "teeth"?

ACT clutch discs will "work" if paired with an OEM pressure plate. How well the combination works is another story.
