Don't waste your time man, carfax is a scam. A clean carfax means NOTHING. There are so many ways around it if someone wants to hide something about a car.

 

you ought to think before you speak. carfax is not only for seeing if the title has been salvaged or has had flood damage. it's a great was to confirm the history of the car.

example: i'm looking to buy a car from a private seller. i as him if he knows the history. he says yes and proceeds to tell me the number of owners and how long they owned it. i check carfax and everything he says matches up with what carfax says. i now have a very good feeling that this guy is legit and whatever else he says will prolly be legit. if it doesn't match with carfax i know something is fishy.
