Default Newbie turbo question (H22)

I have a 1997 Honda Accord wih an H22A swap in it. I am looking at boosting it in the next few weeks. I have owned a SRT-4 before so I am pretty informed on turbos and building bottom ends, but I am curious as to what all I will need to safely boost the H22 with no issues. Do people usually build the bottom end first and what all will I need ? Thank you for the help.

there is a lot of information on this...you need to SEARCH. But since i am here...

H22s use FRM sleeves, and open decks (most blocks)...basically they are very weak and crappy to turbo **edit (if you plan on boosting the stock block), unless you are planning on only running around 6 lbs and have a nice tune. The ring lands/piston rings are weak and prone to fail.

Recommendation is to sleeve the block and get yourself some quality pistons/rods etc. The head should be fine depending on the amount of hp youre trying to make.

Again, try searching. There is a ton of info out there on this.

Just trying to help before you get hounded.

It depends what power goal you have and as alot of people will tell you on here that the H22A is not the most "boost friendly" motor... Basically, low boost (8 PSI or less AND a GOOD tuner) the stock block should hold up - anything above that you gonna have to re-sleeve or maybe try some FRM compatible pistons and stronger Rods (I'm in the process of trying this out with Mahles).

Good luck with that "Big Block" hehe.
