Default 01 Civic cranks strong, wont start unless

2001 civic 150,xxx cranks and cranks strong but will not start unless given gas, when given gas motor turns over and runs with foot on gas, when foot is taken off gas rpms drop and the motor sputters out..as of right now i've done the following.

-car needs a battery, so i hooked up jumper cables for ***** and giggles..no difference
-checked all the senors around the motor, unplugged and replugged in all of them

I cleaned my EGR valve today but i don't think that relates to the problem at all seeing as i let the car idle for 10 minutes after i re-attached it.- no problems

I'm thinking alternator? fuel delivery? fuel pressure may not be enough? maybe a bad sensor or something..and help would be greatly appreciated..I do plan on taking out the alternator tomorrow and getting it tested.

I would start with scanning for codes. If none, check fuel pressure. It should be 40-47 psi.

Have you tried cleaning the IACV? (Idle Air Control Valve)

Tried resetting the ECU and doing the Idle Relearn?

Checked the fuel pressure? (as noted)

PCV?

Vacuum leaks?
