I had PIC selects on my coupe and pulled em off and sold em cuz even with 8/6's they rode too harsh for me.
Now, my car is stuck midair on jack stands cuz I cant make my mind up on what suspension to get.
I know I want coilovers w/a firm ride that wont beat my kidneys to ****. I do not plan on racing my car competitively but I do plan to make it to some AutoX events through out the summer. Car is mostly used for DD duties at the moment.
I'm considering Koni/GC and Progress CS2 coilovers (350lbs/250lbs or 350lbs/350lbs). What else is out there?
Prefer to only hear from people with EXPERIENCE. If you're just going to say get this or get that cuz my boy has it and its dope!!! You'll be ignored.

I rode with GC's on my Koni shocks commuting 100 miles a day with 380/450 rates and it was awful. If I had to do it again I'd go with 380/250 or 400/250 (around 7 and 4.5 kg/mm front/rear).

Thanks man, I know I need a softer spring since I do plan on DD'ing the car everyday. Are you suggesting I get Koni/GC's with the rates you suggested or do you have another option?
I'd suggest the Progress CS-II's and if you're really looking for comfort go with the 350/250 rates. The 350/350 rates would technically be better for AutoX but regardless, even that setup wont make you very competitive...
Realisticly the Koni/GC is a better setup because of the shocks. If later on down the road you choose to become more compeitive in AutoX and/or decide to go back up to higher rates, you can do so because of the Konis(up to 600 lbs/in). But obviously this is the more expensive route, by around atleast $250 more than the Progress CS-II which can be had for $560 shipped..

I've read a lot about the Progress coilovers. I dont think I will ever get competitive in any class of autoX, more of a fun Weekend type thing to do...
You can do 350/250 on both the setups without any problems and have a good ride. It's just the Koni/GC is more versitile. Koni & GC also come with lifetime warranties whereas the Progress coilovers have a 1 year warranty, so that may be another thing to consider.
I have the 350/350 and I highly recommend it. If you have moderate tolerance it's fine for daily driving. A lot of people I've talked to regret getting the 350/250.

I wont be doing a lot of "racing" with my Civic.
I've been lookin into Yonaka coilovers and recently someone suggested the Skunk2 Pro S'. Yonaka coilovers are about $600 and Skunk2's are about $720... the Progress are the cheaper of all three.

The only thing worth buying that's cheaper than Koni/GC is Progress.
I've had the old shcool Progress (might be CS-I's) for 7-8yrs sold them and they are now on a friends DC2. I would go with Koni/GC just because of the warranty and the ride quality. Funny because my Koni/Skunk2 with the same rates you had were to soft for my liking.

Do a little research on the topic, specifically looking into suspension frequencies, and you shouldn't have much issue determining what rates would be best for your needs. Once you understand motion ratios and suspension frequencies, you can even compare spring rates on radically different cars to help figure out what will work best for you. This knowledge also allows one to pick spring rates for a car with a significantly changed weight as well.
