Default clutch question 01 s2k

Clutch is starting it go on my 01 at 95,000 miles. 5 owners will do that. Dealer wants $1700 to do the job. Anyone have recomendations on a good clutch? Or should I go with OEM. I'd like to burn up some tires now and then but maintain driveability.
How difficult is the job. I have done one on my lifted 95 jeep in my garage, but that might be the easiest clutch job ever. Thanks.

I'd stick with stock if you don't plan to boost.

IMO, it's a pita. Ill gladly pay someone but not the dealer.

check out some DIYs on this and see if you can do it. Dealers are always over prices. Check with a normal shop who does that kinda stuff. Look into a factory replacement from ACT or comp.

ACT street clutch with HD PP is a Great setup, or go with Exedy.
Post up local for a honda mechanic, takes about 6hrs. if you know what your doing.

ACT heavy duty pressure plate with OEM disc is one of the best setups to use if you are fairly stock.

Usually a good mechanics will charge about $500-$700 for a clutch job, so all in all, you're looking at about a little over $1k to do.

$1700 is ridiculous. if you are set at having it done at the dealer make them show you how they are coming up with that. ask how many hours it pays the tech and the labor rate. bet the price changes quite quickly.

Hows it going, i can help you with it. Pm me or send me an email at admin@operationcreation.org

i've done it about 5-6 times. It's honestly pretty simple, just need to free up a day or two.
You need about 36" of socket extensions, a wobble head extension for the "bitch bolt" top starter bolt.

You also need to jack the car up a good amount, 12" won't cut it.

and last but not least a 3/8th allen head 8mm i think, or 10mm, for the drive shaft bolts, which with your mileage i would replace(10$) majestic honda online.
