Timing belt jumped
So I'm looking for a good write up on how to properly change the timing belt, tensioner, water pump etc.
I actually have 91 EF but it has a b18a1 in it so I figured this would be a good place to ask around. Trust me, tried the search tool, I never have any luck with that ha ha!
Thanks!

my belt jumped a tooth a while back and getting the bolt that holds the alt/ps/ac pully off took the longest, i tried getting it off with a impact and that was a no go so i had to pull off the starter and have a friend lock up the flywheel with a prybar to get the bolt off..
ps, haynes is useless.. I bought a pdf version of the shop manual off ebay for 5 bucks.. it was well worth the investment..
if its your first time then just take your time and make sure everything is lined up properly, also stick some 5mm punches or allen wrenches cam holes to hold them in place while you get the belt on.. it works wonders, good luck!

Good news sort of... it isn't my timing belt that jumped. The stupid *&^**!! rotor bolt in the dizzy came out again...
I don;t know how I forgot about that little guy. It's done it twice before. I'm still going to change the belt and the water pump since i bought the parts and it needs done eventually. At least I don't have to worry about ruining anything from it jumping, and I guess I dont have to correct timing now. So here's to good news and doing the work anyways ha ha!

Okay, how on eart are people getting the pulley off. It just spins and spins and there is no way to grip it in place that hard. I know there is a honda tool, but any way around it without an air gun?
the only way i know of is taking off the starter and having a buddy CAREFULLY jam the teeth of the flywheel with a prybar and putting a breaker bar on a 1/2in ratchet, pb blaster or other lubricating agent would ease the loosening. But you will also have to repeat this to tighten with a torque wrench.
to get that pulley off you can go to O'Riellys and they have what is called a honda crank puller which is a hexagon which fits in the pulley and then you use a half inch drive with extension to get to the bolt. you may rent the tool from them by leaving a deposit with them and then you get it back when you return the tool
I broke two or three drives trying to get this thing off and ended up having to go to a shop and let them break the bolt loose with an air impact wrench and tighten it up for the drive home.
I just did a head gasket, water pump, and timing belt change so I have fresh experience on how I did this. Again be sure to use 5MM punches or allen wrenches like the other guy said while putting on the belt to ensure nothing moves.
top things to know when doing this
Make sure the it is at TDC. if you do not know how to do this i'd be weary on doing this project.
when putting the belt back on ensure it is still at tdc and once you have the belt on tighten up the tensioner and turn the crank 3 teeth counter clockwise and then loosen up the tensioner and it will pull the slack off the belt and then tighten up the belt
