Default SCDRA - Sport Compact Drag Racing Assosiation.

SCDRA Is a New Sanctioned League that is having its First Points Season Beginning in 2003. During this Season All races will be conducted at Cooper River Dragway

During this first Points Season, Admissions will be handeled by the Dragways Gate. Driver and Car admission price will be announced before the first run. Points will be gathered and posted on a website, or several websites.

The SCDRA Rule Book will also be available for reading via Email for the time being, and later posted on the website. As this is a Sport Compact event, All cars fitting that class will be allowed to include FWD, AWD, and RWD. Also included are Sport Compact Trucks not just cars. Any Car or truck classified by Compact will be allowed to race.

At this time the Points season will be open to all drivers that attend. But Season 2 will be based on Membership only. Non Members of the SCDRA will not be able to compete in any Sanctioned event. Membership Fees will be announced to new members in August of 2002.

Once again the First Points Season will be held at the Cooper River Dragway, Located in South Carolina Between Goose Creek, and Moncks Corner. If interested in Attending these events, Please Email Me with comments or questions about class info or anything. My Email is wbmi@homexpressway.net

If enough people attend and drive in these events, then Cash Payouts, and Trophies will be awarded and may even take place during the first season. This is a trial season, and 2004 will create a home at other tracks for this League.

If you would like info on Sanctioned events to be hosted at Your local track Email me and I will be glad to email your local track with inforamation on the events and there guidlines.

Thank You For Your Time

Keep In Mind there is 2 More Sport Compact Trophy Runs left this year at Cooper River Dragway. I hope to see as many people as I can there.

BTW: my birthday is the day before the next Trophy Run, I would like everyone to bring me gifts, preffered gift is cash.

Rules and class info is based on NHRA's Summit Compact series, but is more open to the average driver. Payouts and new rule book will be released soon. The Rule book will be online or as a download.

Keep in touch for info.

Yes it is a 1/8th mile track, yet offers alot of fun. The day starts at 6pm, and starts with Test & Tune until 9pm when the Trophy run begins. Between rounds test n tunes continue. This season is a still as Trophy run only for the Sport Compacts, but if approved then we will be running the points series above and will offer cash payouts.

I look at it like this, they are doing cash payouts for Pro Class, and Sportsman Class. However the Imports get stuck with a trophy. Dont get me wrong, I like my trophy I wont last run, but a little cash would be nice as well. God forbid I actually earn enough to cover the cost of my car, and perhaps some new parts.

1/8th mile is where the acceleration is, and during test n tune, you may be running side by side with a 1000 hp rail car lol.

Interesting. This is the first time I have heard of this. I might have to ride down there some time. Is there a class for slow cars? lol. It would be cool if they had this at Darlington Dragway.

It is all one open class this year, run what you bring. Most people bring there daily drivers, some the only mod to there car is takin the air cleaner out.

Its alot of fun as is even though its currently just a Trophy only event. We are pushing to get a Cash payout if we can have a strong enough gathering of dirvers. Having an even cancelled due to only 3 drivers showing up would be tragic. We wont be sold out that easy. Come on down from florence its not that far a drive. I know I used to have a second girlfriend there, and would sneak off twice ore more a week to see her.

6pm gates open and test runs start. 9pm is the normal start time for the event.

Well you know Ill be there. My boss is really into drag racing so she said I can have friday nights off. I have some surprises again for this weekend. And by the way its just bracket racing not heads up, so technically every class is for slow cars. Hope to see some new importers out there.
