Default Okay to run without AC Belt?

I have a '91 CRX SI, and on my way to work today the tensioner pulley broke off. My AC doesn't work, and I just realized I probably don't need that belt on anyway (AC's the only thing running off of that belt), and it might even boost the hp's slightly without it.

Am I right in thinking that, and is there any danger in running the car without that belt, assuming I don't care about having AC?

Thanks!

Many cars did not come equipped with AC so you are perfectly fine without the belt.

You will be fine without it maybe even give you a lil more power with out turning that compresser.
