Clutch safety switch
Well my neck is finally getting loosened up from standing on my head under the dash of the car last night to fix the clutch safety switch. I know there has to be a better way of getting to that switch and there has to be someone who makes replacement contact pads for the 22 year old clutch pedal arm. Anyways I opted to bypass the switch and avoid some wear and tear on the thrust bearings until I can find a way a source for replacement contact pads.
Does anyone know if there is a way to get to the switch without standing
on your head?

Ive never had to be under the dash long enough for me to get annoyed but usually I just reverse sit on the chair. My legs wrapping over the shoulders hugging the headrest. Haha. Works for me.

My clutch safety starter switch on the 93 Civic went out a several days ago. Of course, it wouldn't crank. I replaced both the pads on the clutch two days ago. First, I removed the driver's seat (just 4 bolts). This allowed me to rest my legs on the back seat while I looked squarely under the dash. I got two new pads from the dealership (quite reasonable; $3.39 each). I pushed the clutch pedal and kept it in place with a stick in front of it and behind the brake pedal (see pic). Of course the access to the upper hole for the pad is very narrow. So, I stuck the pad on a long flat-head screwdriver with double-stick tape and eased it into the hole. Took about 3 tries, and it worked. Some bit of the double-stick tape is still on the pad. It was hard scraping it off, and I left it alone. No need to bypass the switch, and no need to remove the pedal.
