b20 timing question
I'm changing the timing belt on my b20 and I need to know are the cam gears supposed to point directly up, or parallel with the head, since the head is at an angle? I know it's a dumb question, but any input would help.
Looks like you need to go about half a tooth ahead with each cam to me. You're missing the back timing cover with the line on it. The camgear notches would have lined up with that line.

Since the B20 and ls are similar, how do the cams look (timing marks wise) when you install 5mm punch or similar(allen wrench) in each of the holes on top in the first cam caps which will lock the cams in place?
those marks on each side should be in line with the top of the head. where the valve cover sits on.. use a straight edge rest it on the head behind the pulley and the marks should sit in line with it. looks like both cams need to go one tooth left
