I am changing the timing belt and the water pump in my 1999 Honda Accord Ex coupe v6. The book says something about there being a special tool to help hold the tensioner in place while i change the water pump? It says something about the it being oil filled? I was just wondering how much the tool cost and where can i get it..I am thinking it will probably be a dealership then it also says something on the lines of using a zip tie? Any help would surely be apprenticed...Thanks in advance.

 

When I did mine I had a tiny hole in the shaft and the tensioner that i was able to slide a small alan key into. Ive also have to take the tensioner off and gently and slowly compress the shaft in a vice. Best of luck, no idea about the zip tie
