Default Anyone know what this pin looking thing is?



Found it rolling around underneath the pedals after a two hour drive. Looks like its sheared on one end. Car is a 89 Si hatch.

looks like the pin that holds the brake, gas or clutch cables to the pedals

thats what i thought too, but the car still drives OK?

is this car equipped with cruise control by any chance?

No but really it does look like the pin that connects the cables to their correct pedals. But if your car's driving fine then maybe you had a spare up in your dash chillin? IDK.

it looks like the pin that holds the brake pedal to the back side of the brake booster. mine fell out one day while driving and i still havent gotten around to putting it back in the only thing that is different is the amount of travel it takes to apply the brakes.

im putting my money on where the cruise control connects to the gas pedal.

I think that pin has a head on one end like a nail and on the other end a hole for a cotter pin/clip to hold it in place.
