CEL on but when check it nothing
hey i have a ls integra converted to obd1 when i go to autozone they are unable to read the code theres an error that occurs, when i put the paper clip in the plug it doesn't flash.
You go to Autozone and try to pull the CEL from the OBD2 port on the car?
Well you do realize that port does nothing now because you converted to OBD1, right?
You now have to jump the connector to pull the CEL, possibly your connector is not hooked up at all or correctly.
Seems you most likely didn't put the motor in yourself so I would go back to wherever you got the work done and let them help you.
A CEL that stays on without a code is most likely an emissions issue or oil change interval, can be triggered just by driving at high altitude, [O2 sensor]. happens to me every time I go from Kelowna to Vancouver.
Reach up under the dash to the right of steering column and hit the reset button on box mounted to lower dash trim, button is on top of box and flush with box, press into box. 94

Let me get this straight, it seems from your user name and sig that you have a 98 Integra converted to OBD1, correct?

thanks, isn't that for the man. required light
Yes, your correct, for maintenance it is the "Maintenance Required Indicator".
For the emissions issue it is the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp"/"Check Engine lamp", it is the CEL I reset with the button under the dash, I have never used it to reset the MRL, but then again the services have always been done at the Acura or Honda dealer in town. 94
