Just bought a 92 integra
Wasup..I'm new to this forum and i was hoping to learn a lot about this car i just got from a friend of mine it has a b18a1 engine, with a fresh rebuild has only like 20k miles on it but i'm having a problem were the stock transmissions i keep buying for it last about a week...and im planning on turbo charging it..and if anyone has some idea's on what kind of transmission to put in this bitch it would really help...just to get it ready for a complete turbo upgrade...and plans on what would make this thing purrr like a kitten on steroids?
here's a pic of it with the tranny grenaded..i need to start doing a little body work but wanna get it drivable again first..its been sitting in a backyard for 3 years...needs alot of tlc

So you're saying that you keep buying replacement transmissions and they're all blowing up within a week of installing them? What happens to these transmisions? are you putting new trans oil each time?
ya, the first couple times i kept rebuilding it finding parts from a local junk yard...but was doing dumb **** like putting in reverse and slapping it into first to peal out lol...but when the last one blew, i was just mashing down the block and downshifted to first and just boom...i was really mad that last time because it was a brand new tranny and had put the good oil in there. unfortunately it was all over the street so. now i wanna find something with a little more strength in it....the motor is a beast, i slap a fatty cold air intake with tube and throttle body on it after i get it smogged every couple years cause california emission laws suck...but I'm thinking of just turning it into a pure track car...
i need to do some body work too...i did alot of body damage just moving from place to place cause the lack of money recently...but im coming back to it wanting to do things right this time

Why not see if you can find a Type R tranny, if not a GS-R.
I have a GS-R with Phantom Grip LSD in my 94 Integra, have had it for 8 years of autocross, [lots of up and down shifting at high RPMs] still works flawlessly. 94

I'm thinking the transmissions you keep buying from junkyards are just.. well.. junk. Doing things like mashing it around town, reverse to 1st peelouts, downshifting to 1st, etc.. those things can kill any transmission in any car, let alone a junk transmission that's likely already been thrashed on.
My recommendation is spending some money on a transmission rebuild, and NOT thrash your transmission like that.
Find a good GSR or B16 transmission, rebuild with carbon lined synchros, and use good trans oil like synchromesh, torco MTF, or Honda MT Fluid. While you're rebuilding it, you might want to think about adding an LSD since the casing will be opened anyway.
Expect to throw down some money on it.. especially if you're going to do a turbo build. Cheaping out on parts is going to hurt you in the long run.
