WDPfreak's EG Sedan: Project "feri-yo"
What's up guys?? This will be my new build/startup thread.
Here's the long story behind myself and the car. I graduated from high school in 2009 and then I got a job as a waiter/popcorn chef in the summer. My dad offered to give me his 2000 corolla as a graduation present. It had a dropped a valve. My brother and I spent the summer tearing it down and got the head redone. I drove it for a few months and then it started burning oil. I parked it at my dad's and then he let me borrow his subaru. He took that back after a month and I was without a car. My mom (who only makes ~$600 a month plus disability) offered to buy me a car. That car was a 1995 civic ex sedan. It was spraypainted silver. Door moldings and weather stripping were bondo'dShitty carpet, **** and plywood trunk liner. Cheap *** lowering springs, etc etc. Even the steelies it came on didn't fit (almost lost a tire- and my life). So I did my best to try and correct the wrongs it had seen. Ended up having to correct a problem with the reverse lights by bypassing some wiring under the dash, tried my hand at body work and that did not end well. A primered car that my friends and I rattle canned, eventually ended up rusting through cause we didnt do a good enough job. I ended up picking up some body panels like doors a bumper and a trunk that were in good condition for super cheap. I've driven it all this time and I've finally decided to go with something that wasn't in need of so much recovery after going back and forth on whether or not to continue the work.
Tax season came around this year and I wound up finding out about a whole shell through my local motor enthusiast forum (WVMS FTMFW). The guy who had it was actually going to buy it from a friend and didn't have time to finish it. He told me if I paid what he owed on it, it was mine so long as he could keep the rims. That was a grand total of $400. So I got my tax returns back and made arrangements for a truck and a daulley this past sunday. We started our drive around 4 PM and it turned out to be a 4 hour drive to the eastern panhandle of West Virginia and I live in the southern portion. We arrived at 9 that night in pitch black. I looked the car over as best I could (having never seen any pictures of it) and on the daulley it went. We got back around 3 A.M. and I dropped it off at my brothers house. He coincidentally lives next to and works for a body shop part time. So it's there for the time being to patch up a few spots on the body. Namely, the rusted quarters because the mounting points for the rear bumper are rusted out.
Here are the pics of my new whip!!

It's a genuine EH9 which works out great for me as it's what I'm already driving and just a few parts need swapped over. The engine that's currently in it is blown. I'm gonna swap it over from mine (they're both d16z6's). This will be my first swap and I'm ready to get my hands dirty.
My plans are
Stage 2 Comp Clutch, I'll be ordering from MAPerformance
Patch up some body work, keep the color for right now.
Finish my current car, correct the body problems to the best of my ability along with the electric, and grab all the misc parts I need to make it a full car. Sell it, then fund my swap. I'll be going for a B + turbo and I'm shooting to have that done by end of summer/ beginning of fall.
All advice and comments are appreciated. These are the only pics I've got right now, I'll swing by the body shop and snap some more tomorrow. Thanks for reading, follow close and help me out!!

looks like you took on alot of work, hope it turns out great for ya! I do see some http://www.por15.com/ in your future
grab some up, works great on rust

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. Like I said earlier. I'm only 19 and don't make too much money, so this will be a steady build thread, but most of the real progress will happen in the next month or two. I'm gonna shoot to have the entire thing done by my birthday which is may 15th. I'm waiting on my quote from the body shop and then based on how much they want to charge will determine whether the quarters get painted after they weld in new sheet metal and if the other body panels that need repaired/replaced will get matching paint as well.

Wow I totally forgot to upload pics for this. I snapped quite a few. After reading over the engine bay thread, I think I have decided to go with some work in the engine bay. One of the first things I will be doing is an ABS delete, and then a brakeline tuck.
I've already started on tucking the driver's side auxiliary harness and I ended up snapping the plug for the windshield washer motor in half =/. Anybody know how to depin it properly? I looked at the inside of it and the tab that holds the spade in is a bitch!! I just need to order loom and heatshrink to do it all now.
So I'm trying to figure out how exactly to go about deleting my ABS still though, I've got some questions and whatnot to figure out. Brake tuck though, that is a different story. I am gonna relocate the prop valve once I get the abs part done, and put it behind the dash. I will be running stainless hard lines for this as well.
There are little things in the body work that I am picking up on that need to be fixed. It looks like the car was a victim of maaco paintjobs at one time. I'm seeing a lot of red in places I shouldn't. Anyone know any tricks to remove small sections of paint that won't damage rubber/plastic/chrome?
Here's pics:
Engine bay. Don't mind all the lost intake **** laying around, that will definitely be gone soon.

Here's some of the body work I'm getting patched up... or planning to anyways. Quarter panels are rusted out where the bumper mounts in, and along the rest of the inside up to the rear doors.

Both sides...

HUGE run in the trunk lid

Another angle, maybe you can see it better.

Door. Notice the mirror is held on with duct tape, I will be swapping out at least the mirror with the one I have now, possibly the door skin as well. All of the plastic, rubbers, and clips will be going in the old door though cause they are in damn good shape compared to mine now.

the best way to remove the ABS is to get a non ABS '94 - '97 Integra MC and 4040 prop valve. Btw just so you know stainless brake line is insanely hard to flare. Normally you'd want all the hardlines from a non ABS civic as well, but if you're planning to do a brake tuck and run custom lines I don't see much point.

Drop will be coming soon, I think I'll be going with F&F type 1 coilovers. A friend from cali runs a website/shop and he's got a killer deal on them. I'm not keeping the rims, the guy who sold them needs them back for his other project. He's supposed to be getting me a set of steelies, but idc right now as long as I can roll the car around.
Thanks man. I love the four doors, I'd probably never have anything else. Forget about getting out to let me friends in the back lol...
Regular brake line.
Yes, and it has to be '94 - '97. Prop valve could come from a '98 - '01 because you're doing a brake line tuck anyway, they work the say but they mount different and lines connect and different angles. MC must be '94 - '97 though.
Quarters are only about $100 - $120 a side for certafit wheel arches. it's pretty hard to pay someone less money than that to bend sheetmetal and have it look as good.

Holy **** thanks for the correction!! Do you think that would cover the areas in need of repair? Doesn't look like it covers much more behind the wheel arch area...
Yes, also the $211 ones are hand stamped and the fitment sucks, the cheap ones are properly stamped and fit well (I used a set on my own sedan a last year)
