well if you get a custom exhaust made i would get 2.5 cuz 2.5 crush bent is almost the same as 2.25 mendrel bent

A good rule of thumb:

Mild N.A. motor - 2.25"
Mild F.I. motor - 2.5"-3"
Crazy F.I. motor - 3"+

2.5.

A lot of people are really cautious and are all worried that by going 2.5" they're going to lose some torqe or some **** like that because they think backpressure = HP to some extent.

Go with the 2.5" and let it breathe. The JDM headers for both the CTR and the ITR come with 2.5" collectors, I'm sure that they most likley aren't hooking these up to 2.25" exhausts and if they are they aren't thinking straight. IMO @ 8,000 rpm exhaust gases are flowing out quite qickly so going with 2.5" piping seems logical to me.. However if I had a lower reving motor like a D series I wouldn't go over 2.25".

I have 2.25, and 2.5" both on my B16A and I'm MUCH happier with the 2.5" exhaust.
