F23 into a 94 accord ex
I bought a 94 accord ex with a bad motor. I'm not looking for an upgrade I just want to get the car running. Right now there is a sale on the F23 and I am just wondering if it will fit the car or what modifications I will have to make. Thanks
Pretty straight foreword swap. The F23 will bolt right in no problem. You will need the ECU for the F23 and a OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness as your car is OBD1. Look in the FAQ section for more info, it is a sticky at the top of the page.
Im in the process of putting this motor in my 93 cb. Its fairly straight forward but you will have to change a few things out.
The stock f23 driver side post mount did not work with my 93 mount so I used the 93 f22 post mount bracket.( it only has about 1/2"-3/4" of space but I think it should be ok)
The one stud on the f23 bracket is super freakin long and has a fairly long shank.
Im using my stock 5spd obd1 harness and using obd1 f22b1 injectors, POA ecu, obd1 f22b1 dizzy. Also on your exhaust, what I did was sawzall about 2" from the converter flange because my bolts had so much rust that it just looked like a blob of rust instead of a bolt and Im using the f23 downpipe and just welding a piece of stainless pipe in place to connect the system.
Other than that, its easy. Just a few things for a heads up. There isnt realy much detailed information on this swap. At least I couldnt find much info.....
Good luck!

Besides that, everything will plug right in. I'm not sure if the F22 VTEC distributor will work on the F23, but I don't see why not as they're very identical because you want to re-use your distributor since it's OBD1 and will still plug right into your engine harness.
