Icon2 88 civic hatch temp gauge issues

When my car in warmed up and temp gauge reads around the middle if I turn my blinker on the needle goes to about 3/4 on the temp gauge and bounces, and if I turn on my high beams needle goes in the red and says overheating. Is this a major problem, and if so how do I fix it

Sounds like you got some wires crossing. Check out the wiring leading from the gauge cluster & your blinkers, under the dash. Someone should be able to explain more in depth. It shouldn't be a major problem unless you can tell that your car is actually overheating.
