1990 CRX SI Suspension Interchangeability.
I put my CRX in a ditch the other night missing a deer. I didnt do any damage to the body but now my rear wheel is cocked at a weird angle. I'm hoping its mostly the wheel that got bent and not the rear suspension parts. But, if the rear suspension parts got bent is there any other cars the CRX shares parts with as far as the rear suspension goes? because it is very hard to find a 2nd gen CRX in the yards around here.
if youre just changing one side, i would take the trailing arm off any civic/crx 88-91 and then swap out the spindle from your current bent arm. most likely the spindle and brake assembly is just fine and will fit. all other parts swap over and are identical.
the torx bolts that hold the spindle on can be tough tho. that would be the biggest difficulty.
as much as people would like to assume integra trailing arms are 100% identical, i dont think they are but I dont have conclusive proof either. so if youre going to pull parts from an integra, do both sides or absolutely measure out the two. you dont want one side to be different.

Yeah I haven't tore into it yet I'm hoping the aluminum wheel just got the crap bent out of it cause it doesnt hold air now cause the brake rotor still looks square... Did the SI's come stock with rear disc? Thats what was on my car when I bought it.
I found a set of trailing arms and all the other stuff on craigslist for a 88 crx... But it has drum brakes on it... will my disc brake stuff bolt up to it?

88 CRX trailing arms will bolt up, but you will have to switch rear struts.
Also, I don't think that the disc brake setup will bolt up to them (no caliper mount); and you will have to switch proportioning valves and emergency brake cables to use the drum brakes.

So its a no go on just using the 88 trailing arm and bolting my stuff up to it?
Switch which struts? Do I have to use the 88 struts or just bolt on the ones I have now?
I pulled the wheel and tire off to check out the damage.. all of the control arms and trailing arms look fine... It looks like the hub spindle assembly got tweaked in the trailing arm... if thats even possible. So what are my best solutions... I did try bolting up another wheel and tire to see if it was just my old wheel that got bent but it didnt really make a noticable difference.

Looks like the strut bolts to the lower control arm so I will just swap the lowers out on the 88 trailing arm since the 88 uses a stamped metal lower anyways... Can anyone confirm yet if the spindle hub assemble can be swapped between the 2 different trailing arms?

Anyways turns out my subfram bent a little bit.. kind of a bad design that honda makes their lower arms so strong that they bend the frame before breaking. Looks like i could get it decently straight and driveable with an adjustable upper link.
