a good alarm is the aladdin...its on groupbuycenter for 185 last i checked...but getting installed is gonna cost u a lot...all the places around here charged (accordign to two friends i know who have it) 400 dollars but they found a place in canada that would do it for 100 dollars

aladdin = garbage. Ask the other members on the board, they know first hand. I have see problems with this alarm on other boards too.

Stick with DEI (www.dei.com or http://www.viper.com), they make Viper, Python, Hornet, wasp, etc., best brand out there. They even bought out Clifford not too long, this alone tells you how good they are.

Alpine alarm I heard were also very good. Bascially, my recommedation, anything made by DEI or Alpine. Top notch alarms.

The install is the important part!!!! My install in my Type R took 8 hours and has a different bolt type for each bolt and no visible wires nor can the siren be ripped out. Mine was $500 for the alarm, battery backup, and install. The only way my car is going anywhere is a flat bed and my alarm will be screaming like a b!itch the whole time

Added:
Also, make sure your alarm can't be "fried." Thieves will take a battery and hook it up to your car blowing all your fuses and sometimes your alarm.
