Default which way do i turn my crank pulley

which way do i turn the crank pulley to make my number 1 and 4 pistons go down? i dropped a piece of lil piece of metal thru my spark plug whole and its just sitting on top my piston. i tried using a magnet but no luck because my piston was up. i might be able to get it out if the piston is down.

counter-clockwise. you might want to try to shine a light down before moving the crank to make sure its not caught on the side and going to scratch the **** out of your cylinder walls

Like djkobe said, CCW. Going the other way is likely to cause your timing belt to slip a tooth or two and really mess things up.

Good luck
