Fired up the B16 for the fist time today:) (long)
My cousin and I spent last weekend swapping out the d16a6 for a b16. Pretty much ran out of time sunday evening due to family commitments. Then with work and school, Finished up wiring on Wednesday.
Today I finally filled it up with oil, coolant, plugs, tranny oil, and made my best attempt at the vaccum lines. I have the XSI manifold and am retaining AC. Fun Stuff!
We checked everything over, and went to start her up. She started after the third try. My exhaust is not correct yet, so It straight up sounded like an old school chevy truck. Seriously!
Messed around with vacuum some more, played with timing, and then slapped the radiator cap on.... There went my smile. Connecting pipe starting leaking behind the thermostat. Have to get to that one later.
Very happy with it so far. The best part of the day is.... No check engine light and no codes!!! ( yet ) Must have learned something hanging around here (and some other forums)
So like all the other people, I am thankful that this board is here. I really want to thank all the people that have taken the time to answer my questions, even if they had been asked a million times.
So hopefully I'll get the coolant leak stopped this weekend and weld up the exhaust early next week. I am getting very anxious, but patience has paid off so far. In the meantime Im rolling a 1984 toyota camry with 104k. Boy can she slide around those corners
