Default B16a CEL issue! Really odd.

Okay, so to start off, I have a 92 Integra w/ a B16a swap. The block says its from a 1990, so I assume its obd0, but it may be obd1. I have no idea because I didn't do the swap. My ecu is a p28.

Anyway, I have a CEL, and there isn't a light on the P28 for me to read. I read on another forum that there is a blue socket between the kickplate and glove compartment that I can jump to read the codes from the actual light in the dash. Problem is, I can't find that light for the freaking life of me. I've searched multiple times, and can't seem to find it anywhere. I need to figure out whats going on with my car though. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe there's some other way for me to check?

Your car is obd0, the blue clip is in a different location then obd1 and obd2 cars.

If you don't have a CEL light on your cluster, then how do you know if you have a CEL?

If you're running a P28, then somewhere along your wiring has been converted to OBD1.. It could be a jumper harness, or it could be the entire harness. If you jump the two spots mentioned, your CEL itself will blink in a sequence. That's what you have to watch for.

Yeah thats what I'm trying to do. And I DO have a CEL in my cluster. There isn't any lights on the ECU though. And thanks. I figured it was OBD1 but I wasn't 100%. Any idea where the jumper harness may be?

The jumper harness usually is installed right at the computer. And no, I've never heard of any such lights on the actual ECU itself that's clearly visible.

I have that thread bookmarked loll. I'm gonna go look again in a minute just to see if maybe, maybe somehow I missed it. I'm really hoping I did. And I know the PR3 has a light on the actual ECU, and I'm pretty sure there's an obd1 one that does too.

when you jump the 2 wires you are reading the blinks of the check engine light on your gauge cluster not the ecu. some OBD0 ecus have the light on the ecu that you read.

I FOUND IT! It was literally a pure stroke of luck. It was hidden down behind my ecu sorta, it wasn't a blue plug and the wires weren't the color they were supposed to be. I just jumpdr it because it was the only thing that I could find so I figured **** it. Anyway it's for my TPS and my ELS. I have no idea what the ELS is at all but I'm researching it. I'm hella stoked that I found it loll.

Its 20. Same as ELD. I read the DA's don't have an ELD though. I also read that I can pull a under hood fuse box off of a G3 and it has the ELD, and I can just replace my fuse box with the G3. That doesn't sound right to me though. Any suggestions? Maybe there is a ELD?

Remember though, 90-91 DA integras are OBD0. 92-93 are OBDI, which naturally means different electrical and smog components.

I found this..

http://hondaswap.com/civic-del-sol-e...etector-76522/

Seems like there's a bare wire that may cause a short where the intake is bolted to the block. Also replacing your fusebox seems to do the trick as well.

Cool thanks man! I'm about to go check and see if thats possibly what's causing it. I read that sometimes when a swap is done the ecu will throw the 20, but only when you're checking the ecu codes.
