Skunk2 Pro-S coilovers??
I've been trying to do a bit of research on a good suspension setup for my next upcoming build. The coilovers will be going into an EG or an EJ, an I've heard mixed opinions of them. Some people have said that they have a really strong/hard spring rate much too hard for the streets while they also have a strong grip. Comfort is not really too much of a top concern for me, as long as they do their job in keeping the car steady, keeping it glued to the road, and as long as there will be no bouncing. I am currently somewhat of a noob as far as suspension set ups go, and I figured that Skunk2 would be a good name to go for as far as the quality of parts go for the price. What do some of you guys out there have as far as opinions for these coils go, and/or are there ''better'' things out there for the price?
I just recently bought a set of skunk2 pro s2 coilovers. No doubt they handle great around corners, but the downfall is how much you feel the bumps and how stiff the springs are. I go over a bump and there is no absorption at all.
Even with thicker tires on my gsr blades, car rides still bad, and switching to my summer rims, gets worse. But all depends if u live where the roads are beautifully done, or where there's a bump every 5 feet on the road.
But keep reading up - plenty of sites, links, reviews on this city and plenty of others.
just my 2 cents.

Well, with coilovers you only have a small range of selection as far as comfort goes; there's uncomfortable and very uncomfortable. But i guess that's what you get at the expense of having upgraded handling.
OP: Check out Progress CS-2 coilovers. I've seen them go for $560 shipped IIRC. They are probably the cheapest yet good, reliable coilovers you'll find and offer a good ride. If you're looking to slam your car, these aren't what you want though.

OP you should also consider Progress CS-II's as mentioned, or Koni Sport shocks paired with Koni-specific Ground Control coilovers (aka Koni/GC setup). You can find info for the latter in my sig.
Skunk2 Pro-S II's may or may not be good. I personally cannot say either way. They look to be quality from the pics and videos I've seen, and are indeed a good improvement over the original Pro-S setup. However my issue is that Skunk2 is listing some blatantly incorrect info on their website about the Pro-S II's and have not responded to me when I asked them about it.
yeah exactly.. the pro s II is definitely a step in the right direction compared to the pro s which I never rode on the regular pro s, but the construction of the pro s II seems to resemble the pro c without the damper adjustment.
I think they ride just fine with them almost as low as they go in the front, theres some vibration you might call it? but its not bumpy, ive hit some pretty good bumps and they where not nearly as bad as the lowering springs/tokico setup I had before.
I do agree with patrick, they have some sketchy info on their site about these things, and im having some issues with them at the moment, but as far as quality and ride go, I have no problem with em at all.

good, this all sounds nice to me, im not looking to slam my car, im just looking for a ''functionally'' low look and ride out of it. I dont like having to carefully ease my way in and out of every driveway/parking lot lol.
