Default How To: Make a Hatch exhaust fit a Coupe (96-00)

So I found an awesome deal on a 96-00 hatch catback local. I own a '99 Si. For anyone in similar situations it is real easy to make fit.

From the header to axleback all is the same.

I have no cat, so I just welded striaght to extension pipe.

4" needs to be added above the rear LCA

The tip needs to b extended out about 5-6"

We used 2.5" piping and flared the ended.

Thats it. Now I am going to take it off, clean up the welds, and paint flat back with BBQ paint !!

Sprayed mine with bbq paint this weekend after my dad welded up my diy test pipe.

You know I got the BBQ paint idea from you Is that dry? I want mine to be as close the the factory Noir finish as possible (flat black).

That was right after I sprayed it. I haven't really looked at it since. I should check it out tonight. I miss my hatch so much. Can't wait to have it back and throw on all the freshened-up goodies.

cool work man. but you should have not cut off the tip of the muffler to extend it absence just have extended the rear piping of the muffler more..instead of 4"..maybe 8" or just mock it up first...good work over all

I could have, but then I would have had to extend the hangers. Either way it works.
