It's an optional console.

There are a couple different ones too.

The one shown in your link has a pocket in it for storage. (Easy find in Canada.)
One has an EQ in it for a radio option that was offered.

Notice the bend to the profile on the fight side.
The JDM version has the bend on the left side.
JDM right hand drive version does NOT work on left hand drive cars.

 

so you would just have to convert your car to rhd ..

 

^^^ only if you intended to use the RHD version.
I was explaining the major difference (there are more) in the RHD and LHD console because the RHD can be found for sale.
Its a real disappointment buy a part you think will work just to find out that does not fit in any way shape or form.
