Default Tein flex coilover question

Okay, I just recently got a set of tein flex off my brother for free. These are my very first set of coilovers and have no clue as to how to set them to the proper settings. Although I have been researching on how to adjust the height and all. but my question is, Do i have to set the springs flush with the two seat locks in the middle? As of right now the spring is free and moves up and down. The seat locks for the front are all the way down to the bottom by the bracket lock.

Would I need to twist the seat locks up and compress the spring to the top mount and then twist the bracket lock upward to lower my height?

Well any info would help me much.

I want my car to be at least 2.5" in the front and 2" in the rear.

You shouldn't have to pre load the spring. Just have the lock seated against the spring and the spring against the top hat. If you want to lower your car you will have to turn the shock body until you have the height you want and lock it down with that lower collar. Only way to get the height you want is level floor and a yard stick might work or you can always eye ball.

Thanks, One more questions.

I took the car for a drive around the block and the suspension is very bouncy. I turned it all the way to the stiffest, then turned it back 8 clicks. *I believe that is what it said on the manual from the tein site.* well does these coilovers always ride rough??

Honestly, I do not know the spring rate. These were purchased and used before I got a hold of them.

Just remember any after market suspenion will never ride like stock. Just wondering but do Honda guys ever use air ride? I came from the Vw scene and everyone uses air ride. Smoother ride quality over coils but double the money.

They should be something crazy like 12k/6k and when I had mine they weren't rough at all.
