-i have tried 2 other ecus w/ same results except w/ cels
For 02 and knock sensor

Here's what has been changed:

-throttle body
-spark plugs
-valve cover pcv
-gasoline:now using 92 octane
-oil(twice since symptoms began)
-cleaned iacv and fitv on old throttle body
-valve cover gaskets(found oil in spark plug tubes)

Any help greatly appreciated.trying to get it running right for honda day atco

I drive a 94 Dx with a b16a and mine does this too! For whatever reason i don't understand. But yeah like what that other guy said look into your dizzy first. Second, check your throttle cable...might be like getting stuck...so make sure its tightened. 3rd, change out your o2 sensor, their relatively cheap. Oil in the plug, mean you need to change out your valve cover spark plug gasket....which might cause fouling.

It kinna sounds like "limp mode" I think a bad O2 sensor can force the ecu to do that, so i would change the O2 sensor first.... not sure about the knock though.... i know it can cause it in a stock ecu but most of the time, chiped ones have that removed.

Check Throttle position sensor. My 97 hatch did that to me. Unplug that tps and drive it after it's warmed up and see if the problem stops.

Bad knock sensor will do that to ya. Bad knock sensor will also immediately throw the ECM into limp mode

Sounds like your TPS isnt calibrated right or your fuel pressure is too low. I had the same issue the other day with my new motor on my old tune. First I recalibrated the TPS and it fixed it mostly but it was still lean (it would break up a bit after 4k) so I turned up my fuel pressure and it was all good.

Having the same problem with my 96 ej8 b20v.... Above 4k it cuts out for a second then wants to go again. but if you're hitting a wall i would check dizzy, check the dizzy shaft and gear at the end, i had this problem once and the gear at the end was almost decintagrated and that shaft was broken... Could also be a bad Cat or fuel issue. I belive mine is fuel now. How do i turn up fuel pressure without an adjustable fuel pressure regulator ?!

Hope you fix the problem !

By taking off the little vacuum line to the fpr, it'll supply full pressure but won't be much different, but I'm guessing that's not your issue, any cels?

Make sure the TPS and MAP sensor plugs are not switched. That too could cause that problem.

-tps should throw a code but it's worth checking out its easy to do. Also just so you know, it is essential that the voltage increase smoothly from closed throttle to wide open throttle, if it doesnt replace. But you replaced the whole throttle body. so its unlikly but still possible.

-Also make sure your grounds are good and clean and tight.

- what condition are your spark plug wires in?
