i Bought a new tranny for my 92 gsr and im not sure if it has lsd or not. The differential looks different than my stock ys1. I can see through the differential in the new tranny but it also seems to have a doughnut wall thing in it. Like i said, i can still see through to the other side but it looks different than any other lsd pictures I've seen online. what do you guys think.

i took pictures and could not find a way to put it on here properly. working on that right now. but the picture above of the lsd is different than mine. the google image lsd has a more clear and wider view through it. mine just has a small circle that you can see through. im gonna find a way to post up my pictures, thanks for the replies!

Strange.

If the pics are on your computer, you should be able to just manage attachments in the go advanced option and upload it to the site.

****! really? i guess i got a bit screwed over. FML! I just thought that if i can see through it that means i have lsd, but i guess that doesnt apply to all transmissions. thanks for the reply.

 

Bro...don't give up just yet...I just bought a tranny that had LSD stamped on it and everything and it looks identical to yours. I posted up and got a response...check it out here, it's good news!

Dont worry you're good Thats an aftermarket LSD Diff, it could be a Mfactory or OBX

 

The reason for the "small hole" is because you are looking at a washer. Almost all Helical LSD's use these for noise suppression, and to prevent the worm gears from rattling around.

The 1st image is of a Plate LSD, and does not have these washers, hence the reason for the "large hole".
