I read all the cluster swap write-up's i found via search... but didnt see any that said anything about HOW TO and IF i need to disable the airbag when just swapping gauge clusters. 95 ej1 dx with b16a swapping to m/t lx cluster. have the FSM and it doesnt say anything about disabling the airbag.

i can figure out how to get everything out and swapped, just don't wanna have the air bag go off and get broken ribs or decapitated or some crazy ish...

 

What does the airbag have to do with the cluster?

 

beats me, but i just saw in the FSM a disclaimer saying to read the SRS section before working areas that have a "*" next to them... gauge section has a star... i read the SRS section, didnt see anything new to me and read the steps to remove the cluster, didnt see anything about it... but just wanted to make sure. i've never heard of having to disable before, but i've been outta the Honda game a while and this is the newest Honda i've owned.

 

Disable it for piece of mind if you need to but I don't know anyone that does.

 

Airbag doesn't need to be disabled when swapping the cluster.

 

what i figured. i just finished the swap, still have my head so all is good. thanks for the help ya'll.

 

Disconnecting battery will disable the airbags.
