I was just wondering if this is the Transmission that gets the best miles? and if it is what engines does it mount up to without problems.

 

Well, sort of. When it's moving, it does, but it has a tendency to NOT move the car. What I'm trying to say is it's crap. I'd LOVE to have an HX with the CVT, but I can't motivate myself to buy one, given the horrific reputation it has regarding reliability.

 

That's what I like about this place. Honest without fault. So what trans is the best with my d16y7

 

a d16y7 4 speed automatic i would think be the best. or convert to 5 spd and barely have an issue

 

honda civic vx transmission, or any transmission that has longer gears will help with lowering your rpm at cruising speed.

 

The hx 5 speed manual is very good. The vx does get better mileage but it also has a higher final drive so you suffer tremendously as far as getting run over by all the other idiots on the road but with the hx you get the best of both you retain power but also the mileage.
