b16a2 ecu help!

Default b16a2 ecu help!

ok i have a swapped b16a2 and the ecu. But In the car right now is just a sohc ecu, i have the ecu that came with the b16 and my question was can i just plug & play? or do i need to do anything to make it work?

i take it by your name that its going in an ek if the motor is obd1 then NO you will need a jumper harness

o alright, well the car has everything from an em1 motor and all that stuff..would i still need a jumper harness?

if its obd2 a ecu n a obd2 car than its plug n play, if its a obd 1 ecu n a obd2 car than u need a jumper harness.

what would happen if i plug it in and its not the same? would the connections not fit? or would something short out?

b16a2 is an ob2 motor, your car is ob2... Should be plug and play

thanks for the help guys, but i just asked the guy who i bought it from and he said i need a jumper harness. now another question.haha. how does a jumper harness work, and where can i get one? o and also lets say i get this jumper harness would i be able to BAR it and pass?

Dude its simple. EM1 motor, OBD2 car, use OBD2 ecu from the em1. Plug and play.

There is obd2a which is 96-98, and obd2b is 99-00. what year is your car?

exactly. OP didn't post what kind of car he had. The EM1's ECU will plug into the 99-00 civic OBD2B harness no problems. But if the harness is OBD2A (96-98 civic), you need a different solution.

You need a jumper harness for an OBD2A car to a OBD2B ECU. Evasive had some good deals going with those a little bit ago. Got mine for $85
