Ok buddy is stuck in Atlanta with trans problems but doesnt need to head back home until friday. Seems like 1st gear is trashed. It slips really bad but he can get it moving before it warms up unfortunately he's downtown working at getting out of atlanta without stopping is about impossible. Reverse seems to work find and we are assuming the rest are good as 2 days in a row he was able to get a few miles down the road until coming to a stop again. So is there anyway to force the transmission into 2nd to take off to see if that will help the problem.

putting the shifter into 2nd from what I remember doesn't force the car to take off in 2nd. Some cars did have that option but I didn't think the accord did. Wondering if there was any other way.
i had a 92 with a bad trans, had no first or 3rd, and wehad to manually shift it, but we made ours take off in second for over 6 month so yes just put it in 2 and drive remeber to shift out of it though
no u got change ur tcu it on the passager side under ur carpet u got to take the cage off to get to it and its the small one that control ur transmission to shift so chage that go get one from a junk yard for ur year car.

if you put it in d2 on the shifter, then its in second gear. honda did this to help with limiting the torque so you don't spin the tires as easily if you're stuck in snow. So if hes in d2 and not being able to move, then the trans is really messed up.
